Find a cruising boat that fits how you plan to use it
The useful starting point is not a marketplace listing. It is a clear picture of your cruising, size constraints, propulsion preferences, crew and practical ownership needs. B-Atlas uses those needs to help narrow hundreds of boat models without treating missing information as a known mismatch.
Start with the constraints that are truly hard limits
Cruising area
Think about exposed water, rivers and canals, bridge clearance, draft, locks, tides and typical trip length.
Length and beam
Marina slips, haul-out equipment, storage and road transport can create genuine dimensional limits.
Hull and propulsion
Displacement, semi-displacement and planing hulls trade speed, efficiency and ride differently. Shaft, sterndrive and outboard propulsion also change maintenance and handling.
Crew fit
Side decks, stairs, helm access, headroom, berths and cockpit arrangement can matter as much as headline specifications.
Then research actual models
Once you have a workable profile, move to the B-Atlas Boat Model Guides. You can also explore focused research pages such as single diesel shaft boats under 35 feet, boats under 12 feet beam, and trailerable cruising boats.
Unknown information should trigger research, not automatic rejection
B-Atlas distinguishes a known poor fit from a field that simply has not been documented yet. That keeps incomplete older boat records visible while making the confidence of a match clear.
