Albin 30 Family Cruiser

2004–2007

The Albin 30 Family Cruiser is a later American-market successor to the 27 Family Cruiser, combining a deep cockpit and semi-enclosed helm with separate forward and aft sleeping spaces. Its solid-fiberglass modified-V hull, skeg-protected running gear and single diesel emphasize practical family cruising rather than sportfishing specialization. The split-plan interior sleeps up to five in two separated cabin areas.

Best for

  • Couples or small families wanting separated sleeping spaces
  • Weekend and multi-week inland or coastal cruising
  • Buyers wanting more speed than a traditional displacement trawler without twin engines

Trade-offs

  • Aft-cabin layout interrupts conventional cockpit-to-cabin flow
  • Water and waste tankage are modest for extended cruising
  • Ten-foot beam still limits easy road transport
  • Production run was short, so model-specific parts can be uncommon

Known concerns

  • No model-specific concern has been promoted to B-Atlas’s evidence threshold. This does not mean the model has no age-, condition- or hull-specific risks.

Inspection focus

  • Confirm engine installation and repower quality
  • Inspect deck, cabin-top and window areas for moisture where cored
  • Inspect fuel, exhaust, raw-water cooling, shaft and steering systems
  • Review wiring, plumbing and owner modifications
